People from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, ages and lifestyles attend the Santa Fe School of Massage. From artists and yoga instructors, to nurses, former executives, and parents, we see people from all walks of life. Whether this is someone’s first profession, or a change of life, Santa Fe School of Massage can accommodate a variety of backgrounds and needs. Students arrive at our door from the local Santa Fe region, other states, and around the world.
We enjoy the diversity of our student population because of the qualities they inspire: curiosity, understanding and acceptance. And when we train diverse individuals, the work extends into diverse communities. Dr. Scherer, the original founder of the school, used to say, “Take the work where it’s not.” In this way, our shared love for massage and the healing process spreads around the globe.
“Being over fifty and a cosmetologist for thirty years, I wondered if it was such a good idea to take on another career, and one so physical as massage. Well I did, and I haven’t regretted a moment of it.”
